1930 In commemoration of the 500th anniversary of the death of the Grand Duke of Lithuania Vytautas, in the town of Vadaktai, near the church, on October 27. a stone, pyramid-shaped monument arose. The lines of the national anthem are inscribed on a shield-shaped granite slab attached to it: “From the past, your sons draw strength. Let the love of Lithuania burn in our hearts. ”This monument stood undamaged throughout the Soviet era.
