The church was built circa 1910. There is not much historical material about one of the oldest stone buildings in Radviliškis. It is known that in the time of the tsar it was a post office yard, later the tsar’s army stayed here.
The new Evangelical Lutheran parish of Radviliškis was established in 1910. Historians believe that the Evangelical Lutheran church, which is still standing today, was built at that time.
In 1917, the Radviliškis branch church belonging to Šiauliai (Alkiškiai) parish accommodated 100 people. Until 1932, the parish was served by one priest, so in each church services were usually held 1-2 times a month, usually in Latvian, and also 2-4 times a year – in German. Priest Teodoras Kupferis served in Šiauliai parish for a long time. He took care of establishing new churches in Radviliškis and other towns.
The Evangelical Lutheran community existed also in pre-war independent Lithuania. According to the data of the consistory of 1937, there were 170 believers in the Radviliškis branch.
In 1946, the church was nationalised. During the Soviet era, a furniture store was opened here. In 1995, the building was returned to the Evangelical Lutheran parish.
The building complex of the Radviliškis Evangelical Lutheran Church, which is still standing today, is included in the Lithuanian Registry of Cultural Property.
