RAUDONDVARI'S FORMER MANOR FARMHOUSE

Manors

Manor homestead 2 km from Šeduva, towards Panevėžys, on the shore of the lake - palace, stables, barn, water mill, office, laying.

Raudondvaris manor, otherwise known as Šeduva manor, in 1789. the Barons Von Ropp bought it from the Poniatovskys and owned it until the Soviet era. At the beginning, Ropai had a conflict with the inhabitants of Šeduva, he wanted to force them to go to the estate. The conflict reached the court, where Ropai lost. Then, in order to separate themselves from the town, they demolished the manor buildings in Šeduva and built new ones, away from the town, in the current location. Ropai built the romantic two-story palace with neo-Gothic features around 1840. The building is compact, rectangular, with a recessed portal niche. The edges of the roof are surrounded by toothed parapets, reminiscent of castles, and a low square tower rises in its center. The windows of the palace are pointed, in the shelters they are triangular. Interestingly, this mansion was built according to the amateur project of the French teacher FD de Montpereux. The palace is surrounded by old, centennial trees.

in 2005 the estate is privatized. Soon, the palace was destroyed by a mysterious fire: the roof burned, the walls melted.
