The Catholic church of Šaukotas, then called the chapel, was built with his own funds in 1767. Simonas Petras Herubavičius, the owner of Kalnuotajos Šaukots Manor, started construction. The construction of the church was completed in 1795. It is known that she was born in the 19th century. In the first half, it was reconstructed and enlarged, then repaired several times.

The church is wooden, in the form of folk architecture, rectangular in plan, with a sacristy on the side and a five-walled apse. There is a wooden belfry (18th century) in the churchyard.
