THE MONUMENT OF THE GRAND DUKE OF LITHUANIA VYTAUTAS

Sculptures

The monument was built in 1911. In the central part of Burbiškis Park, near the central entrance of the manor house. This is the first monument of the Grand Duke of Lithuania Vytautas in Lithuania.

The sculpture is realistic, repeating the portrait of this Grand Duke in Vilnius Cathedral at that time. The pedestal of the monument is neo-baroque. Vytautas the Great is depicted in full height458887, with armor on the chest and a sword on the side.

The monument has survived almost intact since 1911. until these days. 1968 It was partially restored at the expense of the Ministry of Culture. 1990 the pedestal was restored with the efforts of the district monument managers, and in 1995 - a sculpture.
