Radviliškis is famous not only for its people and railway, but also for its stone objects that commemorate centuries of history. Although there are only a few of them, they all have left a greater or lesser mark on the history of the town. We invite you to visit these historical stone objects in our town.
The history of each stone object in Radviliškis Town is unique and interesting. Collected regional information about these objects allows us filling the gaps in the cherished history of the region and thus keeping these objects away from oblivion. The stone buildings, monuments and stones located in Radviliškis Town tell about its historical life, which will be interesting not only for the residents of Radviliškis, but also for other guests of the town.
This educational route provides an opportunity for people with visual impairments to learn about historical, art and cultural objects, which we usually learn from books or by watching them. Touching the stone artwork will allow people to “see” its exterior, and audio imaging will help to “see” larger objects.
Information for the route was prepared by the Public Library of Radviliškis District Municipality implementing the project “Touch the exhibits with your hands!”. The project is partially financed by the Lithuanian Council for Culture and Šiauliai City Municipality.
The texts of the sound representation were prepared by dr. Laura Martinkutė.
The authors of the photos are Greta Simonavičienė, Lina Abromavičienė and Daiva Šipulskienė
